Please do not leave placing your bids until the last few minutes – buyers have been caught out in the past by their internet dropping out or being unstable and the page not updating. You may need to refresh your browser to see the latest bids. You can place your maximum bid at any point over the period 22^nd – 20^th April and the system will automatically bid up to you maximum for you. As long as any reserve is met, you will only buy an item one bid over the previous bidder, regardless of your maximum bid. Your maximum bid is not visible to the other bidders or auctioneers.

Timing

Bidding opens 9am Wednesday 22^nd April and closes from 10am Wednesday 29^th April 2026. Lots will finish at one-minute intervals. If a bid is placed in the last five minutes of an item ending, the end time will be extended for a further five minutes. All bidding is to be through i-Bidder, clarkeandsimpson.co.uk and BidSpotter only.

Value Added Tax

Value Added Tax is payable on all lots. VAT is also payable on the Internet surcharge and Buyers Premium on all lots.

 

Buyers Premium

A premium of 3% + VAT of the hammer price will be payable on all lots.

 

Collection

All collections to be on 30^th April and 1^st May. Thereafter strictly by appointment only. There will be a forklift available during this time. Any lots too large to be loaded by the forklift will the responsibility of the purchaser. Receipted invoices must be provided prior to loading.

Clarke & Simpson do not offer a packing or shipping service and preparation/ collection of all lots are the responsibility of the purchaser.

 

Buyers from outside the UK

In the context of this sale, this also includes buyers from Northern Ireland. Following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, a deposit equivalent to UK VAT rate (20%) will be charged on all lots purchased by buyers outside the UK, regardless of whether the buyer has purchased from Clarke & Simpson before. This will be refunded upon confirmation of export and full traceability provided by the purchaser, no later than 10 working days from the date of the auction. After this point it will not be possible to refund and the purchaser will forfeit this payment. The preparation for machinery for export, including cleaning, obtaining phyto-sanitary certificates and export paperwork, will be entirely at the buyer’s cost. This work will not be carried out by Clarke & Simpson. It must be carried out by an appropriate shipping agent. We recommend James P Dixon Ltd, and may involve them removing machinery to their site.
